The journalists from the Nyika Media Club were determined to make a statement on the football field as they faced off against the officers from the D-Company of the Malawi Police Service. The game was held at the Northern Region Police Headquarters ground in Mzuzu on a sunny Saturday morning.

From the start, it was clear that both teams were evenly matched, with the journalists showcasing their skills in passing and dribbling, while the police officers displayed their physicality and strength in defense.

There were expectations that the first half could end in a stalemate, with both teams unable to break the deadlock but the journalists registered two beautiful goals.

However, in the second half, the policemen kicked into high gear and began to dominate the game. Their teamwork and coordination were on full display as they moved the ball around the field with precision. The scribes struggled to keep up, and they took advantage of one of their opportunities.

However, Silvestre Kapondera for the journalist nodded the ball into the back of the net, sending the Media Club supporters into a frenzy. Buoyed by the goal, the journalists continued to press forward.

Despite a late consolation goal from the police officers, the journalists held on to secure a 3-1 victory. The Nyika Media Club players celebrated their hard-fought win, proud of their scintillating performance on the field.
