Football Coaches To Go Digital In Game Analysis

The country’s soccer governing body (FAM) has urged football coaches to seriously consider going digital in analsying games as one way of improving the beautiful game within a short period of time.

FAM’s Head of Technical Sub-Committee Tiya Somba Banda said this on Thursday when he officially opened a two-day refresher course for coaches at Mpira Village in Blantyre.

“The course will provide an opportunity to coaches to understand how they can analyse their players’ performances for them to perform better,” Banda said.

The Super League of Malawi president also added that with the local games being beamed on Mpira TV, Coaches will be given videos of their games to have a better analysts on their team’s strength and weaknesses.

In his remarks,National Football Coaches Association chairperson Aubrey Nankhuni hailed FAM for giving gaffers this platform as this will enhance their knowledge of the game.

“There are a lot of dynamics time and again changing in the game of football hence the need to equip our coaches with the knowledge and skills to make sure they don’t remain behind,” Nankhuni said.

Malawi University of Sciences and Technology (MUST) Lecture Dr Bhekuzulu Khumalo, Flames Coach, Mario Marinica facilitated the course alongside FAM Technical Director Benjamin Kumwenda.
