Over 80 Ethiopian nationals and two Malawians have been arrested in Karonga district on Tuesday for entering and aiding illegal immigrants entry into the country respectively.

Karonga Police Public Station  Relations Officer Sergeant George Mulewa confirmed the development in an interview with Malawi Daily Telegraph saying both illegal immigrants and the two Malawians will appear in Court soon.

According to Mulewa, the Ethiopians were intercepted at the Chilumba Barracks checkpoint on their way in the direction of Mzuzu City from the Songwe border.
